It is not a surprise that I watched a lot of sports this weekend. On Sunday I met up with Willy at Scallywags, a British up in the Yonge and St. Clair area in Toronto. We first followed with one eye the first Euro soccer match of the day and with the other eye the Canadian GP. By the end of those events the pub was full with English soccer fans all in anticipation of the big game: England - France. They cheered and sang and went crazy when their team scored but the atmosphere changed dramatically when France scored their 2 goals in in the last 3 minutes of the game. As a result England, that had been leading most the game with not a lot of difficulties, lost the game: 2-1. Everybody was stunned. There was no yelling or blaming. Just a strange quietness. Everybody just looked at each other hoping that the other one would say that this was just a bad dream. Soccer can be beautiful (unless you were an English soccer fan yesterday)
