It was unbelievable how many people asked us at our (first) wedding where the honeymoon would take us. Truth was that we didn't know where we were going to but in the weeks between the 2 weddings we decided to go to Switzerland. Initially we had plans for Vienna and Prague but the car rental companies don't let you take their car to the Czech republic so we altered the plans and ended up with Switzerland, a country where we both had never been too despite that the top of the country is less than 600 kilometeres away from my parents. We also spent some time in the Black Forest where we of course had some Black Forest cake and saw many cuckoo cuckoo clocks. I also bought myself a bier stein. In Switzerland we visited many cities and were impressed how beautiful they were. Zurich, Zug and Lucerne were my favourites but with the exception of Basel (and I am working on the Basel project!!!) every city had an interesting down town. We had cheese and meat fondue and met an old love of David Collenette who had even danced with Pierre Trudeau. We took a train that took us to the top of the mountain where there was plenty of snow. We drove over a mountain pass through the snow again at about 2000 meters above sea level. We visited the French, German and Italian speaking part of Switzerland and drove through Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and the last day was mainly spent in Luxembourg. And of course we tried to eat at least 1 Swiss chocolate bar per day. Yes, there is more of us to love right now.

Here in short is our itinary: Maastricht - Triberg - Basel - Baden - Winterthur - Zurich - Zug - Luzern - Bellinzona - Locarno - Montreux - Gruyeres - Neuchatel - Bern - Solothurn - Luxembourg - Maastricht
