"Man, what is this a freaking small country" was one of the first first things I said once we had landed in Amsterdam and were on our way to Maastricht in our rental car. Growing up in the Netherlands, Amsterdam seemed sooo far away from my parents' place and now we covered that distance in just over 2 hours. And I am warning Catherine about how bad traffic can get in the Netherlands, we didn't have any traffic jam at all. Even when we drove back to Amsterdam a few weeks later, we would not get stuck in any traffic jam.
