So the Games are over. Despite that I wasn't completely hooked to the TV or that I got up early to watch some of it, it was nice to get home and see the high lights in the evening. On the Dutch channel that I receive on my satellite they had a great talk show every day. So interesting to see the difference in the way the Dutch and the Canadian media report sports. Did you know that the Dutch rank the medal ranking by number of gold medals while the Canadians rank it by number of total medals. Does that mean that the Dutch find it way more important to win and that the Canadian just care about getting a medal? I don't know.
There never seems to be enough time to do everything I want. I wish I would have seen more. Now I have to wait for another 4 years to see some bob sleighs, skeletons or even a down hill skier since in general those sports are not given a lot of attention here in the prime-time sport shows. In 4 year the games are here in Canada so that will be exciting. Maybe if I win the lottery and I am able to retire, I will be able to watch all the sports then. Maybe, just maybe.
