A few days ago I got the sad news that the team organiser of my soccer team passed away unexpectedly. He turned 60 on the day his heart stopped ticking. It was quite a shock for the team since he had just played with us a few days earlier. I also realised that he is actually the first person here in Canada that I knew directly that passed away. Sure, there have been 'parents of', 'friends of' and so on but most of the people who passed away and that I was close to me were living in the Netherlands. Of course the fact that I am now a parent makes it different too. All in all a pretty sad thing.
